Many of us can confess to having binge-watched a series on Netflix. What’s not to like about Brooklyn 99!

But what can we learn from Netflix itself?

It turns out – quite a bit!

Here’s a great chat with the head of Netflix in which there are many interesting insights, including:

– leadership ethos. This includes:

        (a) that one way he judges his own success in leading his people is that he does
              not make any decisions.
        (b) that he openly shares everything about the business with the whole staff.

        (c) that he avoids systemising things – “if you make things idiot proof, eventually only idiots will want to work there”

– their culture & values

– taking risks… and knowing that this can be very scary.

– the role of technology

– using a business to create social impact

These approaches won’t necessarily be right for your workplace… but they are thought provoking!
